What is TIL Therapy

Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are immune cells naturally present in the tumor microenvironment and capable of recognizing multiple antigens expressed by a patient's tumor. TIL therapy involves isolating these cells from tumor tissue, expanding them ex vivo and reinfusing them into the patient. TIL’s tissue-infiltration, tumor-homing and polyclonal antigen-recognition capabilities enable TIL to target heterogeneous tumor cells across multiple antigens.

      TIL Treatment Process

From the Tumor, Back to the Tumor

TIL therapy begins with a patient's own tumor tissue. The tissue is transported under controlled cold-chain conditions to a GMP manufacturing facility, where TILs are expanded ex vivo. Following rigorous quality testing and product release, the cryopreserved cell product is transported back to the clinical center and infused into the patient, completing an integrated process from tissue collection and cell manufacturing to quality control and clinical administration.

          Advantages of TIL Therapy

Grit Bio's TIL therapy leverages multiple core technology strengths and demonstrated remarkable potential for solid tumors.

Mechanism edge in tackling tumor recurrence

TILs can recognize multiple tumor antigens/ targets and possess good tumor-homing and tissue-infiltration capabilities compared with other cell therapies.

          Validated in multiple solid tumors

Clinical studies across several tumor types support the potential of TIL therapy as a broadly applicable approach for solid tumors.

Not subject to CRS and neurotoxicity risks

As an autologous therapy, TIL treatment is not subject to risks such as CRS and neurotoxicity, demonstrating a favorable safety profile and good tolerance by patients.

          Our TIL Pipeline

Guided by biology and clinical needs of different solid tumors, Grit Bio has built a multi-generation TIL portfolio spanning non-gene-modified, cytokine-armored and gene-edited approaches, and continues to explore TIL therapy across additional solid-tumor indications.

GT101, Grit Bio’s Core Product, is a non-gene-modified autologous TIL therapy and the first TIL therapy approved for clinical trial in China. GT101 currently is in a pivotal Phase II clinical trial for cervical cancer, while development is continuing in solid-tumor indications including HNSCC and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors.

GT201, Grit Bio’s next-generation TIL product, expresses membrane-bound IL-15 to enhance TIL persistence and anti-tumor activity. It has received IND approvals in China and the United States and is in Phase I clinical development. The Company is also developing GT307, a gene-edited autologous TIL therapy with double knockout of key immunoregulatory genes identified through Grit Bio’s proprietary ImmuT Finder® platform. By such design, GT307 addresses immune suppression and T-cell exhaustion, realizing enhanced therapeutic potentials in solid tumors.
